Advocacy in Frozen Conflict Settings: Join Us for an Training on Advocacy in Frozen Conflict Settings! 
Are you a civil society representative or activist working on peacebuilding or human rights advocacy
in Cyprus? This is your chance to enhance your skills and strengthen cross-community collaboration!

Date: 14 March 2025 (with an optional half-day session on 15 March)
Time: 10:00 - 16:30
Location: Ledra Palace Hotel, Nicosia


The training will be delivered by Dr. Marieke Hopman from Maastricht University, an expert in
international law and children's rights. Participants will gain valuable insights into effective advocacy in
frozen conflict settings. This activity is part of “InPeace - Inclusive Peacebuilding” Project which is funded by the European Union under the Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and implemented by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Law, Alternative and Innovative Methods (ICLAIM) and the Human Rights Platform (HRP). The event is supported by the British High Commission in Nicosia.

What to expect?

✅ Networking opportunities with civil society representatives and peace activists from across Cyprus;
✅ A dedicated workshop on the second day to discuss the impact of frozen conflicts on human rights,
using children's rights as a key case study.
